Speaking to The Times in 2018, Maya previously revealed that ‘if I could, I’d stay in bed all day’, admitting, ‘even if I’ve got a day off, I’m up by 8.’
She went on to say that she’d kickstart her day by dancing around in the kitchen as she prepared her breakfast, noting: ‘It’s a great way to work up a sweat without really exercising.’
As for her getting ready routine, she continued: ‘There are plenty of days when I “have” to wear make-up and do my hair, so it’s nice to have a rest from that. A quick shower, put my hair up, no make-up, T-shirt and leggings.’
In a bid to have a healthy work/life balance she went on: ‘At least once a week I try to have a girls’ afternoon. And that will usually turn into a girls’ night!’
While attempting to slow down, Maya partnered with Italian singer and presenter Lodovica as they hit the streets of Milan and Cremona to explore the role music plays in Italian culture.
Maya turned her hand to violin crafting in the episode and attempted to train as a soprano before dropping Italo Disco beats to a crowd of excited Milanese.
Speaking about what she’d learned from the experience, she said: ‘My trip has been lovely. I have the knowledge of Italian music.
‘Thank you for educating me on how to live Italian and helping me be that extra bit Italian.’

Maya took on another job this year after being announced as the host of Love Island.
Of taking the role over from Laura Whitmore, Maya said on The Jonathan Ross Show: ‘I was so nervous. Obviously it’s a very big show, everyone watches it, everyone’s got an opinion.
‘Quite a lot of people online were like, ‘We want Maya to host’. So it felt a bit like, I don’t want to let anyone down.
‘I don’t want it to be like, ‘You guys wanted me to do it and now I’m s**t’. So I felt that pressure, and to get the slow-motion walk right…’
Talking about her famous sexy strut on the show, she explained: ‘You do a normal strut about three or four times. You have to sexy it up a little bit.
‘Me and my friends the night before I went had a big girls’ night and they were like “OK, show us how you’re going to walk.”
‘As soon as I got there and the camera crew was there, I was like, “I can’t do it”, but you do it four or five times and they choose the best.’
