A festival dedicated to garlic bread is set to be held in Melbourne

A festival dedicated to garlic bread – which organises say will be a ‘truly sacred and special’ event – is set to be held in Melbourne. 

Hosted by food truck canteen and bar ‘Welcome to Thornbury’, the festival will be held on Saturday April 10 at Northcote in the city’s north-east.  

Participants can expect food trucks selling ‘garlic bread burgers, garlic bread gozleme, fancy garlic bread and good ol’ classic garlic bread’.

Vegan options will be available, with on-site bartenders mixing savoury cocktails all day ‘to perfectly match your garlic bread of choice’.   

‘This event only happens once a year and, like Christmas, is truly sacred and special’, the event’s description reads.  

Nearly 4000 foodies have expressed their interest in attending the unique festival, with the full line-up soon to be announced.
