Workers were lucky to escape injury after a tree chopping operation went south when a huge crane toppled over backwards in Adelaide on Wednesday morning.

The 80-tonne crane completely flattened a ute parked nearby at Crafers, in the Adelaide Hills, but luckily no one was inside.  

The accident also brought down power lines, but no one was reported injured.
