NBC has released the first clip from Thursday night’s A Parks and Recreation Special, featuring the ‘reunion’ of Amy Poehler’s Leslie Knoppe and Nick Offerman’s Ron Swanson.
The beloved sitcom ran for seven seasons between 2009 and 2015, following the fun-loving antics of the Parks and Recreations department in the fictional town of Pawnee, Indiana.
The network announced last week that the cast was reuniting for a new special, with all of the stars filming the parts from their homes, with the special also raising funds for Feeding America.

The clip is a video conferencing call between Leslie and Ron, with Leslie asking Ron if he’s currently at his cabin, which he is.
Always the survivalist, Ron says he came up here, ‘to hunt meat so I don’t have to go to the grocery store.’
He added that he ‘filled up a 12-year supply of venison jerky,’ adding he could ship some to her, though she would, ‘have to have your incisor teeth sharpened.’

Leslie somewhat politely declines, and then asks Ron – who has never been a people person – if he’s been practicing social distancing.
‘I’ve been practicing social distancing since I was four years old,’ Ron added as the clip comes to an end.
Poehler and Offerman will be joined by original Parks and Rec stars Chris Pratt, Rashida Jones, Aziz Ansari, Aubrey Plaza, Adam Scott, Rob Lowe, Jim O’Heir and Retta.

A Parks and Recreation Special is set in present day, amid the COVID-19 outbreak, as Leslie tries to keep in touch with her friends while maintaining social distancing.
The announcement last week also added that a number of guest stars from the show may be stopping by as well, though no other cast members were confirmed.
The special will be preceded by The Paley Center Salutes Parks and Recreation, a 2019 special that commemorated the 10th Anniversary of the series premiere, airing at 8 PM ET on NBC.
