A royal wedding! Princess Alexandra’s granddaughter Flora Ogilvy celebrates nuptials with blessings

Princess Alexandra’s granddaughter Flora Ogilvy celebrated her wedding with friends and family today, after first marrying her beau Timothy Vesterberg last year.

Art curator Flora, 25, originally tied the knot with the Swedish financier, 27, in September 2020 with the couple exchanging vows in a private ceremony at St James’s Palace amidst strict Covid restrictions.

However the couple were joined by friends and family at St James this morning as their marriage was blessed, with guests including Prince Edward and the Countess of Wessex  as well as Lord Frederick Windsor and his Peep Show actress wife Sophie Winkleman.

Flora wore a stunning white lace bridal Phillipa Lepley gown, sweeping her blonde locks behind her shoulders and opting for a glittering silver tiara for the occasion.

Phillipa Lepley is a Chelsea-based bridal couturier, whose celebrity clientele include high-society types including Alice Naylor Leyland and Lady Emily Compton. Dresses by the British designer can cost between £6,000 and £30,000.

The Queen’s first cousin, who was a bridesmaid at her wedding to the Duke of Edinburgh in 1947, has been quietly carrying out thousands of official duties over the years.

Last year, Flora shared snaps of her wedding day after marrying Timothy in a lowkey ceremony amid Covid-19 restrictions.

Due to strict Covid restrictions on weddings at the time, the couple were only allowed to have a small group of family and friends attend their big day.

Flora, who wore a white bridal gown by Emilia Wickstead, shared a previously unseen snap from the big day on her Instagram stories.

Flora announced the news of the wedding in September 2020 with an Instagram post in which she said: ‘We are truly overjoyed and look forward to celebrating next year.’

The low-key couple live and work in London, where Flora balances a handful of royal appearances – including joining the royal family on the balcony at Buckingham Palace at Trooping The Colour each year – and work as an art consultant.

Born in Edinburgh, Flora grew up in a 1780s country house on Scotland’s East coast, before her parents moved to Nantucket, where they now live.

Formerly a professional ice hockey player in his native Sweden, the gorgeous blond Swede is a regular fixture on Flora’s Instagram page since they got together in May of last year.

The couple are believed to have had somewhat of a whirlwind romance after meeting and announced their engagement in November 2019.

Sharing the news of her engagement on Instagram, she posted: ‘We’re engaged! My beloved Timothy asked me to marry him and we’re blissfully happy.’

Meanwhile Timothy commented on the post: ‘Always and forever.’

Flora affectionately calls her fiancé ‘my lovely Swede’ on her Instagram captions, with the two enjoying travels across Germany and Devon since getting together.

Flora’s pals are pleased she’s found happiness, after she declared in 2019 that she was too busy for love, explaining: ‘I can’t even think about going there.’
