Aaron Hernandez’s fiancée Shayanna Jenkins-Hernandez is acknowledging his bi-sexuality for the first time following the release of a bombshell Netflix documentary on the NFL star’s turbulent life.
Earlier this month Netflix released Killer Inside: The Mind of Aaron Hernandez, which delved into his career, murder conviction, and apparent bi-sexuality.
In a Good Morning America interview Jenkins-Hernandez tearfully said she didn’t know that Hernandez was involved with men, but wishes she did.
‘If he did feel that way, or if he felt the urge, I wish that I was told. I wish he would have told me because I would not have loved him any differently. I would have understood,’ the 30-year-old sobbed in an exclusive clip shared with DailyMail.com.
She was with Hernandez for years and together they share a seven-year-old daughter.

‘I wish he would have told me because I would not have loved him any differently,’ Jenkins said through tears in a sit down interview with Good Morning America set to air Wednesday
She revealed she wished he would have told her so she could reassure him it isn’t ‘shameful’ to be gay or bisexual
‘It’s not shameful and I don’t think anybody should feel shameful on who they are inside, regardless of who they love. I think it’s a beautiful thing. I just wish I was able to tell him that,’ she said, wiping away tears from her eyes.
After the documentary was released on January 15, Jenkins-Hernandez thanked her Instagram followers for their support.
The GMA interview, to air Wednesday morning, will be the first time she’s acknowledged Hernandez could have been gay or bi-sexual on air.
In an interview with Dr. Phil in May 2017 when asked if the rumors that Hernandez was gay were true, she said they weren’t.
‘I had no indication or feeling that he was such,’ she said. ‘He was very much a man to me. I don’t know where this came from. It’s embarrassing, and it’s hurtful. Regardless if it’s true or not, it’s just not something that I saw. It’s not something that I believe. It’s just not him.’

The explosive documentary explores Hernandez’s difficult childhood, including how he was sexually abused by a male babysitter, and how he went from an NFL player to killer.
The film also sheds light on Hernandez’s sexuality, alluding he kept it in the closet.
In the film his high school lover Dennis SanSouchie, who has previously opened up about their relationship, explains they felt pressured to keep their relationship a secret.
SanSoucie said they began exploring a sexual relationship in middle school which continued into high school. The two were on the same Bristol Central High School’s football team as teens.
‘We prided ourselves on sports and if anyone knew that we had gay sexual activity together our lives would be ruined,’ SanSoucie said in an Investigation Discovery documentary. ‘We were just in complete denial of what was really going on.’
The film also touches on how Hernandez’s father would not have approved of his son being gay and was described as the type of dad who would ‘slap the f***ot out of you’.
‘It’s not shameful and I don’t think anybody should feel shameful on who they are inside, regardless of who they love. I think it’s a beautiful thing. I just wish I was able to tell him that,’ Jenkins-Hernandez said. Shayanna and Aaron Hernandez pictured together above

Hernandez and Jenkins-Hernandez were together for years and in November 2012 they got engaged, but never married.
Hernandez skyrocketed to fame playing tight end for the New England Patriots. He was drafted into the NFL when he was just 20 and landed a five-year, $40million contract with the Patriots.
In 2013 his football career came to a screeching halt when he was arrested for the murder of Odin Lloyd, a semi-professional football player and was later convicted in 2015.
Two years later in 2017 he was acquitted of double murder of Daniel de Abreu and Safiro Furtado, both immigrants from Cape Verde, in 2012 who were shot outside of a Boston nightclub.
Jenkins-Hernandez is now a mother to two daughters. Hernandez is the father of Shayanna’s eldest daughter Avielle Janelle Hernandez (left), who is now seven

He was found dead in his cell days after being acquitted of the double homicide in April 2017. He was 27 at the time.
Days before his death allegations arose that Hernandez had multiple relationships with men and could be gay.
After his death Hernandez was diagnosed with severe chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), a neurodegenerative disease caused by repeated head injuries and results in behavioral problems, mood problems, and inhibited thinking.
CTE is common in high contact sports like boxing, football, wrestling, hockey, and soccer.
Research in CTE is young and there is no specific treatment. Some sports have discussed changing rules to prevent players from getting CTE after researchers learned of the devastating brain injury and effects it has.
Jenkins-Hernandez is now a mother to two daughters. Hernandez is the father of Shayanna’s eldest daughter Avielle Janelle Hernandez, who is now seven.
