Abbie Chatfield boasts about buying $1.45million Byron Bay cottage and takes a swipe at her critics by joking that ‘being talentless pays off’


Abbie Chatfield purchased her first property in October.

And now the media personality and podcaster has taken to Instagram to celebrate the milestone – and to cheekily hit back at her haters in the process. 

Posting two pictures of herself beaming by the front door, she wrote: ‘I bought a house! All by myself!’

The 26-year-old also tried to silence haters, by adding: ‘Turns out being a talentless, lazy, ugly, unfunny, vaxxed villain without a job or a personality pays off!’

The former The Bachelor star also asked fans to recommend their favourite furniture stores as she plans to furnish her new home.    

Abbie, who is best known for winning I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! and appearing on The Bachelor, picked up her $1.45 million cottage in October.

Located in the Byron Bay Hinterland of NSW, Australia, her new home is described as a private retreat.

The cottage, made in the style of a California bungalow, features two bedrooms and is designed for privacy. 

It is 71sqm and has a spacious 36sqm decking, perfect for sunbathing and entertainment. 

Recently built, the wooden structure is referred to as ‘a romantic timber cottage’ in listings.

Constructed of recycled natural materials, the home has a private studio with its own entrance. 

In July, Abbie told her fans that she wanted to leave Sydney for good. 

At the time, she said she was making the move back to her home state of Queensland.

‘My Border Pass back to Queensland got approved. I’m going back to Queensland to live with mum,’ she announced. 

‘I also have work to do up there. I’m so f**king lucky that I got my border pass approved,’ Abbie added. 

Abbie recently confirmed she is joining the ninth season of the popular reality series Below Deck Australia.
