Abbie Chatfield returns to work after being dumped in explosive Bachelor finale

Back to reality! The Bachelor’s Abbie Chatfield returns to work in a cleavage-baring dress… after blaming the public backlash against her on ‘internalised misogyny’

She recently cited Australia’s culture of ‘internalised misogyny’ as the reason why she was criticised for wearing racy outfits on The Bachelor.

And on Monday, series runner-up Abbie Chatfield defiantly wore a cleavage-baring red dress as she returned to work in Brisbane.

The 23-year-old property analyst oozed confidence in the low-cut frock and heels as she strutted to her office following last week’s dramatic Bachelor finale.

Abbie was left devastated after being dumped by Matt Agnew for Chelsie McLeod on Thursday’s episode of The Bachelor, but she appears to be moving on with her life.

But one thing that Abbie is still struggling to process is the criticism she faced for wearing revealing clothes on the show.

She told 10 Daily last week that the negativity has ‘been rough’, adding that Australia ‘has a long way to go’ when it comes to women owning their sexuality.

‘I think people were just confronted by a woman owning her sexuality on TV and I think Australia has a long way to go when it comes to that,’ she said.

‘If anyone’s saying that I’m “disgusting”, or when people are calling me a “putrid dog”, if anything, I feel like it comes down to internalised misogyny.’

Abbie’s most shocking moments on The Bachelor included her straddling Matt during a beach date and wearing a skimpy dress and blazer during hometown visits.

Abbie claims she was unfairly targeted by trolls because of her body type.

‘Yeah, I think it’s also the fact that my body shape is different to [Helena Sauzier’s],’ she said.

‘I don’t know if that makes the things that I wear more risqué, inherently, I don’t know.’
