Abbie Chatfield has revealed she was raped while at a party in high school.
The Bachelor star, 28, shared the shocking incident on her It’s A Lot podcast this week during an interview with Teach Us Consent CEO Chanel Contos, explaining that it left her feeling anxious and ashamed for years.
‘I’ve never spoken about this. I feel sick even bringing this up,’ Abbie began .
‘Basically, I had consensual sex with one guy at this party, and then I was so drunk that I was passed out in a bush. And then this other guy had sex with me – who I’d kissed two weekends before, or something. That was rape.’
In a shocking twist, Abbie claimed her friends had no sympathy when she told them.
Abbie Chatfield has revealed she was raped while at a party in high school – and the shameful way her friends reacted
‘My friends were just kind of like, ‘You’re being ridiculous, you’re just a sl*t, and you just regret it so you don’t want to talk about it’,’ she said.
The Masked Singer tried to brush off the incident for years, before the trauma came rushing back at an unexpected moment.
‘It wasn’t until I got older, like 20, or something, and I had sex with my boyfriend in a park… I had a full blown panic attack, and was like, ‘Why was that?”

Abbie clarified she has no plans to name the man responsible for her assault, because ‘he was young and didn’t have the information to understand that that wasn’t OK.’
‘So therefore [I feel like] if I speak about it, I’m potentially just ruining his life because he probably has no idea how that affected me. Why are we carrying around the guilt and the shame and the anxiety about it?’ she asked.
Abbie has previously spoken about her decision not to go public about several incidents of sexual assault in her past.

Speaking to Brains Trust podcast in 2021, Abbie said she had been the victim of sexual assault ‘more than once in varying degrees’, but feared speaking out because her attackers were aggressive or wealthy.
She added that a third assault happened when she was ‘a bit younger’ – and she thinks people ‘would say that I was lying’.
