ABC to air documentary about porn website OnlyFans

The ABC goes grubby by airing a documentary about OnlyFans as the porn website soars in popularity in Australia

The ABC is set to investigate the growing popularity of ‘democratised porn’ by screening a documentary about OnlyFans.

In a bold move for the public broadcaster, digital reporter Siobhan Marin’s documentary Nude Next Door will be lifting the lid on the subscription-based adult website popular with influencers and reality stars.

‘For months I’ve been immersed in the fascinating world of OnlyFans and today my baby was birthed,’ Marin said in a statement.

‘It will feature some wonderful women who open up about the rewards, risks and realties of being on this notorious platform,’ she added.

The documentary will ask some tough questions about OnlyFans.

It will shine a light on whether the website’s creators are empowered or exploited, and if using OnlyFans could affect their future job prospects.

Many Australian reality TV stars and celebrities have capitalised on their newfound fame by joining OnlyFans.

The likes of Hayley Vernon, Jessika Power and Ines Basic from Married At First Sight have found success on the platform, as has Charlie Taylor from Love Island.

ABC sports reporter Tony Armstrong even joined the adult subscription website last year, but didn’t share any adult content.

His bio teases he’ll be delivering ‘what you didn’t know you needed’ and all proceeds go to The Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation.
