The brother of accused wife killer Chris Dawson has lashed out at media as the pair left Silverwater Correctional Complex on Monday.

Dawson, 70, walked free from jail with his older brother in tow, allowing him to spend Christmas with his family. 

As the pair drove away, Peter Dawson told a cameraman to ‘get a life’, according to 9 News.

Paperwork which had held up his release has now been accepted, paving the way for his release on Christmas Eve.    

Dawson’s family, including his brother Peter, offered up $1.5million in surety comprised of real estate and other assets to secure his release. 

He intends pleading not guilty to killing his wife who was 33 when she disappeared from Bayview. 

Lyn’s body has never been found. 

Dawson is expected to spend Christmas with family in Queensland following his release, according to news.com.au.   

He was arrested on the Gold Coast earlier this month and extradited to Sydney.
