Acid attack victim reveals horror burns to his face and arms

A driver who had acid thrown in his face while he looked in his boot has today appealed for the public to help find his attack and ‘put him behind bars’.

Andrew Waker, 36, suffered life changing injuries after the unprovoked acid attack at 9.18am in Woodford Green, east London on Saturday, January 20.

Mr Waker said he heard a noise behind him as he opened his car boot on Waltham Road and when he turned around acid was sprayed into his face.

Andrew, who has waived his anonymity, said he did not recognise the young white man and police need the public’s help to identify him and the red BMW 1-Series he sped away in.

Explaining his decision to come forward Mr Waker said: ‘The person who attacked me changed my life forever, and I am constantly reminded of the pain they caused when they randomly attacked me earlier this year.

‘I would urge anyone with any information to come forward to the police as soon as possible so that this person can be put behind bars and won’t be able to harm anyone else for a long time’.
