Adam Sandler forgets to do up flies in red carpet blunder

He’s known for his comedic roles, with audience laughing to tears at some of his best performances, from Happy Gilmore to The Wedding Singer to Grown Ups.

And ever the humorous guy, Adam Sandler even managed to take a wardrobe blunder in his stride, as he had forgotten to do up his flies before hitting the red carpet on Monday.

The 51-year-old actor corrected the mistake while arriving at The Gotham Awards, held in New York, and took it in good grace as he jokingly posed for the cameras.

We can see your nuts! Adam Sandler is forced to do up his trouser zip on the red carpet at the Gotham Awards on Monday after failing to notice the wardrobe blunder

Donning a smart blue suit for the appearance at the ceremony, Adam was alerted that he had left his zip undone as he arrived at the red carpet.

Taking it in humor, Adam corrected the mistake in front of the cameras, before light-heartedly brushing it off as he headed into the venue.

The Billy Madison star also rocked a beard for the appearance, and was no doubt crossing his fingers for awards glory as a nominee for Best Actor.

Adam was nominated for his performance in Netflix drama The Meyerowitz Stories, though sadly the award was won by James Franco for his performance in The Disaster Artist.

In the film, Adam plays the member of a family who come together to celebrate the artistic work of their father, despite being estranged for many years.

The Graduate star Dustin Hoffman plays the family matriarch Harold, and the film also stars Ben Stiller and Emma Thompson.

Almost flash! At one point fans almost got a shot of Adam's undies as he arrived at the ceremony, before someone made him aware of the blunder

The film was the latest in a deal between Adam and Netflix to produce and release four films exclusively on the streaming service.

After kicking things off with Western comedy The Ridiculous Six in 2015, Adam seemed to switch gears and focus on more independant films, with his award-nominated term in The Meyerowitz Stories being the most acclaimed to date.

Fans will get to see (or more accurately hear) Adam back in cinemas again in July next year, when he voices Count Dracula in Hotel Transylvania 3.
