An Australian tradesman who allegedly fly-kicked a motorcyclist on a drunken rampage in Bali has hugged his victim in court and begged for forgiveness.

Nicholas Carr, 26, had drinks with friends in Kuta in August before he blacked out and was captured on video allegedly kicking Wayan Wirawan off his bike.

The builder from Adelaide has signed a peace agreement with Mr Wirawan and paid him $4,500 to buy new glasses and mend his scooter.

On Monday the pair were seen sitting next to each other in court and even hugged after the proceedings.

During the hearing, Carr, who faces two years and eight months in jail, said sorry to the Balinese people.

He said: ‘I’d just like to apologise to anyone that was affected and their families, for the night or the early morning of the 10th of August and the people of Bali also

‘I hope they can forgive me for these actions.’

Carr told the court that he had between 20 and 30 vodka shots and does not remember his rampage.

One of the three judges hearing his case told him: ‘You are lucky in Bali… you kick someone but the people didn’t punch you, didn’t hit you. Please do not do it again’.

The case continues.

The alleged rampage occurred on Carr’s first night of a 10-day visit to the tourist hotspot with a friend.

The pair spent their first night visiting several bars before things allegedly spiralled out of control.

‘I can’t really remember most of it,’ he told Seven News from his jail cell.

‘I have drunk until I have blacked out but I have never done this before, ever.’

Carr denied there were any drugs involved.

Carr was filmed sprinting towards a moving car before hitting its windshield and rolling off the bonnet on Sunset Road.

In a video, two men are seen chasing after a seemingly intoxicated Carr, who laughs as he runs away.

He was then seen running toward an oncoming motorbike and jumping up in front of it, sending the rider flying into the air before skidding along the busy road.

‘F**k this, f**k you!’  Carr can be heard yelling.

The force of the collision knocked the rider off and left the damaged bike sliding for metres.

Motorcyclist Wayan Wirawan managed to walk away from the collision with minor injuries but was unable to work that day.

A photo from the morning after the incident, a bloodied and bruised Carr was seen tied up with thick blue ropes around his legs after being arrested by police.

Carr spent several hours in hospital before he was taken to the police cells.
