Adele is reportedly ‘feeling free’ after filing for divorce from her husband Simon Konecki, six months after announcing their separation.

The singer, 31, is allegedly keen to move on with her life after they parted ways, it was claimed by The Mirror on Friday.

A source told the publication: ‘Adele feels free and is moving on with her life. It looks like the divorce will be straightforward at this stage. They both wants what is best for their son.’

In April it was reported that Adele was already back on the dating scene, as The Sun claimed she was romantically linked to an American man.

The publication claimed that she was ‘excited’ to talk to men again, and had already begun the ‘courting phase’ once more.

MailOnline have contacted Adele’s representatives for comment.

Meanwhile, TMZ reported the £150million singer (full name Adele Laurie Blue Adkins) filed for divorce documents on Thursday, after seven years of of marriage.

The couple have one son together, Angelo, six, and her reps previously confirmed they were, ‘committed to raising their son together lovingly.’

Adele and Konecki started dating in the summer of 2011, but the couple kept their relationship out of the limelight for the most part.

They announced in June 2012 that they were expecting their first child, with their son Angelo born in October 2012.

While they never formally announced their marriage, speculation surfaced that they had been secretly married in 2016, when they were spotted wearing matching rings.

Adele confirmed the news that they had tied the knot the 59th Grammy Awards in February 2017, when she called Konecki her husband in her acceptance speech.

After she collected the Album of the Year gong, she said: ‘Grammys, I appreciate it. The Academy, I love you. My manager, my husband and my son you’re the only reason I do it.’

But in April, the singer’s reps released a statement to the Associated Press, where they announced their separation after seven years together.

‘Adele and her partner have separated. They are committed to raising their son together lovingly. As always they ask for privacy. There will be no further comment.’

It has been claimed that her highly anticipated next album, likely titled 30, may be on the way next year in the wake of the split.

The star has bounced back from her divorce heartbreak and is ‘perky as hell’ these days sources said in a new People Magazine cover story on Wednesday.

Several sources close to the notoriously private star dished that the British beauty is doing better than ever, focusing on her family and gearing up to release new music.

‘She is definitely getting ready both mentally and physically to promote new music. It seems it will happen later this year,’ a source told the magazine.

Adding: ‘She talks about last year as a very difficult year, and she’s said in the past that creating new music is almost like therapy. You can tell that she is ready to share with her fans.’

Adele, who splits her time between the UK and Los Angeles, has spent the last few months focusing on herself and her family.

She’s adopted a new health and wellness regime (which lead to a dramatic weight loss), and spent the summer with friends.

Adele has had a troubling year in the wake of her split from her husband of two-years Simon Konecki. The pair were in a relationship for over seven years but announced their split in the spring with a brief statement.

The couple were last spotted together in January of this year, when there were seen heading backstage at an Elton John concert at Staples Center in Los Angeles.

It was revealed last year that Adele was working on her fourth studio album, which is expected to be released in December 2019.

While celebrating her 31st birthday in May, she released a cryptic message that ended with, ’30 will be a drum n bass record to spite you,’ which most believed was an indication the album was coming soon.

Adele released her debut album 19 in 2008, followed by 21 in 2011 and 25 in 2015, which each spawned massive tours.

A source told People last week that the singer is, ‘definitely getting ready both mentally and physically to promote new music.’

Following Angelo’s birth, Adele revealed she had suffered from postpartum depression.

She said: ‘My knowledge of postpartum – or post-natal, as we call it in England – is that you don’t want to be with your child; you’re worried you might hurt your child; you’re worried you weren’t doing a good job.

‘But I was obsessed with my child. I felt very inadequate; I felt like I’d made the worst decision of my life … It can come in many different forms.’
