Adidas’s website crashed when a frenzy of Oasis fans flocked to get a pair of Liam Gallagher’s limited-edition trainers.

The £99.95 off-white suede LG SPZls – a redesign of the cult favourite Padiham Spzl silhouette – sold out in minutes after going on sale yesterday.  

Anticipating the rush, the sports brand set up an online queue to give fans a fair share at purchasing the footwear, which feature the Oasis frontman’s face on the tongues.

But many were left fuming when they were booted out of the line when the site went down under the volume of traffic. 

Sales were delayed as IT staff scrambled to fix the issue and weed out bot programmes used by resellers to buy multiple pairs to sell on at a huge profit.

The trainers are now being flogged for quadruple their original price on eBay. 

Dedicated fans queued up for hours outside select stores stocking the footwear. In Leicester fans waited outside Well Gosh, where the £99 trainers went on sale.

Jacob Handley, 24, travelled from Chesterfield for the event and told The Sun: ‘I love Liam Gallagher, so it’s a no brainer.

‘I’m definitely keeping them, I won’t sell them. It’s something to keep hold of, it will be one to look back at in the future.’
