Adrien Rabiot has taken to social media to criticise Massimiliano Irrati’s decision making during Juventus’ Serie A clash with Inter Milan on Sunday afternoon.

Rabiot was not happy with the match official’s decision to award Hakan Calhanoglu a penalty after Alex Sandro fouled Denzel Dumfries prior to the half time break.

He also vented his frustration at the video assistant referee – who allowed Calhanoglu to retake his penalty after Wojciech Szczesny made an initial save.

Calhanoglu stepped up to the penalty spot following Sandro’s foul on Dumfries. He fired the ball towards the bottom left-hand corner.

Juventus goalkeeper, Szczesny, was able to block the initial shot and deny Inter Milan their first goal of the evening.

However, the video assistant referee spotted encroachment by defender Matthijs de Ligt and subsequently ordered a retake.

Calhanoglu made no mistake with the second attempt from the penalty spot – giving Inter Milan the lead.

Later in the second half, Juventus appealed for a penalty after Alessandro Bastoni  fouled Denis Zakaria inside the box. However, they were denied.

Speaking directly after Juve’s 1-0 defeat, Rabiot vented his frustration over the officials’ decision making. He said: ‘We hit the woodwork, perhaps should’ve had a penalty too.

‘The referee decided the match this evening. I think the foul on Denis Zakaria was inside the area. It was an important incident that unfortunately changed the game.’

Rabiot followed up his post-match rant by taking to Instagram to say: ‘It’s hard to play 11 vs 12′ as he shared a picture of himself in action against Inter.

Inter’s victory over Juve ended the Old Lady’s unbeaten run in the league – having not lost a game since November. Whereas Inter had only won one of their previous seven fixtures.

The result also boosted Inter Milan’s Serie A title hopes and damaged Juve’s chances of claiming the domestic crown.

As it stands, Inter are three points behind second place Napoli – who won 3-1 at Atalanta on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Juventus are occupying fourth place in the Serie A table – on 59 points compared to Inter’s 63 points.
