Dessert fans will be excited to hear that Aldi stores across Australia have brought back a crowd-favourite chocolate treat. 

The German discount retailer announced their popular fan-favourite churros are back in the freezer section – and they cost less than $5.

What makes these Spanish doughnuts even more delicious is the fact that they come with a chocolate dipping sauce.

The churros were first sold in the budget supermarket store back in 2017, where they were quickly voted as ‘Dessert of the Year’ by Aldi shoppers.

The supermarket chain took to Facebook to make the announcement where they said: ‘PSA: CHURROS ARE BACK IN THE FREEZER!’. 

The announcement prompted a wave of excitement from fans with 3,400 comments and 1,900 likes at the time of writing.

‘Brought some yesterday for dessert. So easy to prepare and taste so yummy,’ one happy customer said.

‘My daughters don’t like dark chocolate but when they had the chocolate with the churros they told me it was yummy! Big hit in my house, thank goodness I bought two boxes.’

Another commenter said she was disappointed when they originally stopped selling them. 

‘My girls will be excited when I pick some of these back up,’ she said.

Although there were hundreds of positive comments of customers eager to see the return of the dessert, some said they were not impressed with the new taste.

‘They are HORRIBLE! Why change the recipe of things that were perfect and tasted amazing,’ one person said. 

‘The churros are just like a stale bread stick and the chocolate is so bitter. Yuck. I’m so disappointed. I lived for your other ones, they were the best I had ever tasted,’ said another. 

The previous product were vegan in 2017 but unfortunately, the new churros are no longer the case as the new recipe contains milk.
