Just weeks after suffering a miscarriage four months into the pregnancy, Alec Baldwin and wife Hilaria are opening up for the first time.

Alec, 61, and Hilaria, made their first public appearance since the miscarriage earlier this month, at the American Museum of Natural History’s 2019 Museum Gala on Thursday. 

The couple spoke to Extra at the American Museum of Natural History’s 2019 Museum Gala, where Alec revealed that they’re already planning on having another baby.

‘We’re going to have another one, just not now. It’s a question of time… It was a surprise,’ Alec said at the event. 

When asked how she was coping, Hilaria said, ‘Physically, I am feeling a lot better. Emotionally, I’m feeling a lot better.

‘Sharing can be hard, but once you share, it feels a little more real and then once it’s more real, you can heal… It also made me feel not alone,’ she added.

When asked if the tragedy has brought them closer, Alec said, ‘If we were closer… I would be sewn to her.’

While Alec admitted it has been ‘hard,’ Hilaria said that it feels like the couple is, ‘dating again.

The couple has received tens of thousands of messages of support following the miscarriage, with Hilaria adding that she spoke with James Van Der Beek’s wife Kimberly, who also recently suffered a miscarriage.

‘We connected, and I guess we truly know what’s going on for each other,’she said. ‘It’s been tough. She’s very strong and my heart is with what’s going on with them.’

Hilaria shared on Instagram last week that she learned about her miscarriage at her 20-week scan.

‘We are very sad to share that today we learned that our baby passed away at 4 months. We also want you to know that even though we are not OK right now, we will be,’ Hilaria said.

She also acknowledged that her and Alec are ‘so lucky with our four healthy babies – and we will never lose sight of this.’

She also shared a video of her and her daughter Carmen, where she told her that the baby isn’t coming after all, but they, will try very hard to give her a little sister another time.’

Hilaria concluded her heartfelt Instagram post by stating that she was still in shock.
