UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski has put his hand up to fight social media star Logan Paul in a bout that would see him rake in a small fortune.

Fresh from his masterful win over Max Holloway at UFC 276, the Aussie phenomenon appeared on the Kyle and Jackie O Show on Friday morning and was quizzed about a possible showdown with Paul.

‘If Logan Paul wanted to fight you, would you do it?’ asked Jackie O.

‘I’d make a lot of money and that so yeah, 100 per cent,’ Volkanovski replied.

Volkanovski completely dominated Max Holloway at UFC 276 despite breaking his hand in the second round. Now he’s keen on a far easier fight

‘You said you know Dana (White, UFC president),’ he said to Kyle Sandilands, ‘so get him to let me go for one fight under my contract and we’ll be good.’

‘We’ll text Dana in a minute, we’ll text him the idea,’ Sandilands replied.

‘We need to set that up, that’s huge,’ Jackie added.

It’s unclear whether she meant to refer to Paul’s brother Jake, who is by far the more accomplished boxer of the two.

Now that he’s proved his complete dominance at featherweight, Volkanovski wants a shot at the lightweight title – and says he deserves the right to hold the fight in Australia

Logan Paul only has one professional fight to his name – a split decision loss to Olajide William Olatunji – better known as British YouTube star and rapper KSI – in November 2019.

Volkanovski’s concerns about whether White would allow him to fight outside the UFC relate to the plight of heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou, who is locked in a standoff with the organisation over his desire to fight Tyson Fury in a lucrative crossover bout.

Now that he has proved his complete dominance over the featherweight division, the 33-year-old is turning his attention to joining a very exclusive club of two-weight champions by winning the lightweight title.

He believes Charles Oliveira and Islam Makhachev will fight for the strap.

‘I’ll take them out, whoever wins that,’ he told Fox Sports on Friday.

‘I’m in a position where I think it’s fair, I think a lot of people want to see it, a lot of people are calling for it, I think the UFC want it.

‘Hopefully we can do that here in Australia. I think it’s time that we defend a belt … whatever fight it is, I want to make sure it’s here in Australia because I deserve that.’
