That’s what £60m gets you! Alexander Isak’s superb dribble to set up Newcastle’s fourth goal in thumping win over Everton sends fans on Twitter wild… and earns him comparisons to THIERRY HENRY
Alexander Isak’s miraculous dribbling to set up Newcastle’s fourth goal in their 4-1 thrashing of Everton on Thursday night saw fans take to Twitter to praise the Magpies’ £60million-man.
The Sweden international, who started on the bench despite a strong showing in his side’s rout of Tottenham on Sunday, was introduced seven minutes before the feat and scythed through the Everton midfield just moments after the home side had scored.
Picking up the ball just over the halfway line, Isak danced past a number of blue-shirted defenders to reach the goal line, before skirting past Ben Godfrey and streaking into the box from the left.
A quick cross to Jacob Murphy at the far post, and Newcastle were in dreamland.
Isak’s masterful footwork won him scores of new admirers, who were quick to compare him to a Premier League legend.

The forward became the Magpies’ record signing in the summer of 2022 after he made the big-money transfer from Real Sociedad.
His first season in Tyneside has been checkered by a long spells on the sidelines due to injury, but since working his way back to full fitness in March, Isak has rediscovered excellent goalscoring form.
In his 16 Premier League appearances, Isak has scored 10 but his jaw-dropping assist on Thursday evening marked his first league assist.

Eddie Howe’s side have scored ten goal in their last two Premier League matches as their quest for Champions League football this season rolls on.
Newcastle currently sit third and benefitted from Manchester United’s draw against Spurs which left their rivals trailing them by two points.
United, who beat Newcastle in February’s Carabao Cup final, were previously level with the Tyneside club on points and only behind due to their goal deficit.
But some fans couldn’t help wondering if a stronger showing from Everton would have made the piece of skill a touch less impressive.
One commentator argued: ‘Can’t let him out the corner. Criminal defending, however superb skill’.
One fan called his performance , which came just seven minutes after his start ‘world class’
But some felt he was given a boost by a careless Everton performance at Goodison Park
Commenters also praised Isak’s selflessness in front of goal in setting up his team-mate
Following the evening’s drubbing, Everton’s season remains in a parlous state.
Sean Dyche’s side are now six matches without a win and in desperate need of points in their last five matches to ensure they stay up.
Languishing 19th in the standings, Everton are set to face relegation from the top flight since 1951.
Only league leaders Arsenal have a longer unbroken history playing at the highest levels of English football.
