Alexander Skarsgard confirmed that he had welcomed his first child with girlfriend, Tuva Novotny, while attending the season four premiere of Succession in NYC on Monday.
The Swedish-born actor, 46, previously sparked speculation that he had welcomed his first baby with Tuva, 43, when the pair were spotted holding a newborn during an outing late last year in November.
On the red carpet of the star-studded Succession premiere, an Entertainment Tonight reporter congratulated the star on the new addition to his family, prompting his response of, ‘Thank you very much.’
He then showed a cute stuffed animal he had been given at the premiere, explaining, ‘I got this on the red carpet,’ and sweetly added, ‘Thank you, thank you.’
Alexander was first romantically linked to the fellow Swedish actress earlier last year, but the pair never publicly confirmed their relationship.

Both Alexander and Tuva previously starred together in Lars Von Trier’s The Kingdom: Exodus last year in 2022.
Back in 2013, The Legend Of Tarzan actor, who previously dated stars such as Kate Bosworth and Alexa Chung, discussed his own father, Stellan Skarsgard, and how he had welcomed eight children.
He humorously told Chelsea Handler at the time, ‘I want to beat my dad. He had eight, so I better get cracking, I guess.’
Last year in April, shortly after rumors of his romance with Tuva, the actress was seen attending the Elle Magazine Fashion Awards in Stockholm and seemingly had a baby bump wearing a black minidress on the red carpet.
However, the two have remained quiet in regards to baby news, until the actor confirmed he had become a father on Monday.
At the season four premiere of HBO Max’s Succession, Alexander opted for stylish comfort wearing a plain black sweater which was a layered with a black suit jacket and matching slacks.
The star completed his overall ensemble for the special event by slipping into a pair of shiny black dress shoes that were secured with laces.
A silver watch placed on his right wrist added a pop of color to his monochromatic look for the night.

On the topic of Succession, he also opened up to Entertainment Tonight and admitted to the outlet that he wasn’t exactly sure how fans will react to the last episode of the final season.
‘I think it’s tremendously well-written, this season. I can’t say, like, ‘You’ll be satisfied,’ he teased. ‘People will be very shocked, very surprised by the end of the season, for sure.’
The actor continued, ‘And I hope that people feel that the show leaves them on a high but also wanting more.’
The cast also includes Brian Cox, Jeremy Strong, Sarah Snook, who confirmed her own pregnancy at the premiere, Kieran Culkin, and Matthew Macfayden.
‘This season I had, without giving anything away, I worked with some other people as well, which was a real treat,’ he explained, hinting about who he had worked with in the upcoming episodes.
Alexander gushed how kind his fellow castmates have been after he joined the hit series during its third season, portraying the character of tech CEO, Lukas Matsson. ‘Especially coming onto the show after two and a half years… I was really grateful because they’re really sweet themselves.’

‘They’re welcoming and hospitable and invited me, and so generous with their time and energy. It made my job very easy. So talented. It’s crazy.’
On the topic of his own character, the Swedish star explained, ‘I don’t think he’s driven by greed or the need to accumulate more wealth. I think it became, he’s very competitive, just like a game, any other game.’
‘It happened to be about a multi-billion-dollar company acquisition but for him, it’s like any other game. ‘This should be impossible.’ ‘Oh really? Then I’m going to make it happen.’ That game was a lot of fun to play,’ he added.
The next and final season is slated to premiere on the streaming site later this month on March 26.
