Ali Oetjen’s Bachelorette finale is filmed in the Northern Territory

EXCLUSIVE: Budget Bachelorette! Ali Oetjen’s finale was ‘filmed in the Northern Territory’… after Sophie Monk and Georgia Love flew overseas for their seasons

It looks like The Bachelorette was filmed on a comparatively smaller budget this year.

While previous seasons have involved the cast and crew travelling overseas to film the last rose ceremony, this year’s finale took place in Australia.

A production source told Daily Mail Australia on Friday that Ali Oetjen’s finale was surprisingly filmed in the Northern Territory.

Previous Bachelorette season finales were filmed in destinations such as Fiji,  Singapore and New Zealand.

Daily Mail Australia understands Ali chose her winning suitor – who is believed to be Todd King – in early September.

The choice of location suggests that Network Ten and Warner Bros. Australia may have been on a tighter budget than previous years.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Network Ten for comment.

Sophie Monk’s finale was filmed at the Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay, while Georgia Love’s took place at the Sofitel So Singapore.

Sam Frost’s debut season was filmed a little closer to home, at the Solitaire Lodge in Rotorua, on New Zealand’s North Island.

It’s perhaps lucky that this year’s Bachelorette crew didn’t venture too far from the production base in Sydney.

The 2018 season has delivered some of the worst ratings in the franchise’s history.

The Bachelorette continues Wednesday at 7:30pm on Network Ten
