A violent all-in brawl involving at least 30 revellers has erupted at a music festival.

Shocking footage was captured of a fight that broke out at the Bay Dreams festival in Mt Maunganu in New Zealand over the New Year.

Two girls could be seen pulling each other's hair, before both falling to the ground and continuing their violent tussle

One of the girls then dragged her opponent by her hair along the ground.  

A few metres away, a number of separate smaller fights broke out. 

A man could be seen swinging his arms several times before laying a number of punches on another male party-goer. 

Meanwhile another group of men could be seen kicking each other and sparring.  

Shocked onlookers watched the chaos unfold, while some could be heard cheering, laughing and egging on the fight.  

Police said three people were taken into custody, while two were warned for disorderly behaviour.

A 30-year-old man was charged with possession of ecstasy.

Apart from the arrests, police said there were ‘no major issues’ to report. 

The fifth annual Bay Dreams Festival, held on New Year’s Day, featured headline acts Halsey and Tyler, the Creator.

The two-day festival attracts more than 50,000 attendees.
