All the roles Meghan Markle starred in during her acting career

She has recently taken up a lot of air time in her docu-series on Netflix. But there are plenty of other films and TV series where Meghan Markle has appeared.

Although her most famous role was as paralegal Rachel Zane in the legal drama Suits from 2011 to 2017, the Montecito-based Duchess of Sussex counts several small TV and movie roles on her acting resume, some which have come back to haunt her.

She has starred in several procedural US dramas including both CSI Miami and CSI New York during her acting career, and a particuarly raunchy cameo in 90210 from 2008 where her character performs a compromising sex act in a car, has come back to haunt her several times since she was linked to Prince Harry in 2016.

As Prince Harry says Meghan being an American actress clouded the royal family’s view of her, Femail brings you a round-up of her best work.

Suits (2011-2017)

The duchess was most famous for her role as paralegal Rachel Zane in Suits. She also became friends with much of the cast

The Duchess of Sussex played the paralegal-turned-lawyer Rachel Zane on the first seven seasons of Suits, from 2011 to 2017  until she retired from acting ahead of her wedding to Prince Harry in 2018.

When she left the show, writers had Rachel and her husband Mike Ross — played by Patrick J. Adams — move to Seattle to start their own law offices.

Markle and Adams have remained longtime friends, and he attended the royal wedding with his now-wife Troian Bellisario, with whom he shares daughters Aurora, three, and Elliot, two.

His children are nearly the same ages as Markle’s son, Archie, two, and daughter, Lilibet, eight months.

He has also hit back earlier this year after being constantly ‘pulled into’ debates surrounding his former co-star Meghan Markle.

The former Suits actor, 40, who was born in Toronto and now lives in California took to Twitter in January, writing: ‘Hello to the people and many bots debating all things Markle and including me in the conversation. I just want you to know a couple of things. 1. I don’t read any of it. 2. Life is short. 3. There has to got to be better things for you to be doing. Even you, bots.’

Meghan’s role in the show saw her move to Toronto, where she became friends with a high-society circle, including Jessica Mulroney and her onscreen husband Ben, son of former Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney.

She invited many of the cast to the 2018 royal wedding. One guest was director Silver Tree, 45, who made an appearance in Harry and Meghan’s explosive Netflix docuseries.

Meghan also had an on screen wedding and her fictional father was Wendell Pierce, who played Detective Bunk Moreland in The Wire.

Her father Thomas Markle was a lighting director on the show – and Meghan has spoken about how she regularly attended the set.

She told Esquire in 2013: ‘Every day after school for 10 years, I was on the set of Married with Children, which is a really funny and perverse place for a little girl in a Catholic school uniform to grow up.

‘There were a lot of times my dad would say, “Meg, why don’t you go and help with the craft services room over there? This is just a little off-color for your 11-year-old eyes”.’

Ed O’Neill revealed in 2019 that Meghan ‘grew up’ on the set of his 80s sitcom Married With Children since her father was working on set.

‘By the way, she grew up on the set of Married With Children. Did you know that?’ O’Neil revealed. ‘Her father was a camera operator.’

Markle’s father, Thomas W. Markle, worked on Married With Children for 10 of the hit show’s 11 seasons on the air, first as a lighting director for the first season and then as the director of photography from the second season to the 10th.

On Ellen, O’Neil fondly remembered seeing young Meghan on the set, adding, ‘She used to come on the set in a little Catholic school uniform. She was like 9.’

O’Neil made this revelation on Ellen during a game called Who’s This? inspired by recent photos he’s taken with celebrities like Britney Spears and Taylor Swift, and he didn’t know who they were.

A Lot Like Love (2005)

The then-unknown actress appeared alongside Hollywood heartthrob Ashton Kutcher in the 2005 film called A Lot Like Love, where she was famously credited as ‘Hot Girl.’

On-screen for less than two minutes, she attempted to flirt with Kutcher’s internet entrepreneur character Oliver Martin on a flight.

But she was left stunned when Oliver showed no interest because of his complicated on-off relationship with photographer Emily Friehl, Alias actress Amanda Peet.

And she ended up being chatted up by business partner Jetter played by actor Kal Penn – instead.

Although she introduced herself as Natalie, she only appears in the credits as ‘Hot Girl.’

The moment was featured in Harry and Meghan’s Netflix docu-series as they discussed Meghan’s film career.
