Allison Langdon was reduced to tears on Monday’s Today show while discussing her late father-in-law Mike Willesee and her upcoming move to A Current Affair.

The television presenter, 43, told co-host Karl Stefanovic that hosting ACA would be an emotional experience as Mike held the same position for 17 years.

‘It’s a pretty special thing to the family if I’m honest,’ a tearful Ally admitted.

‘It’s a special thing for Mike. It has surprised me, how much emotion he’s had around it,’ she said.

She tearfully admitted her exciting news would have been even better if Mike Sr. was alive to share it.
