Amanda Holden jokes that Simon Cowell now has the ‘same waist size’ as her after overhauling his lifestyle and losing 20lbs following health scare

He’s been busy embarking on an incredible weight loss journey which has seen him lose 20lbs after adopting a healthier lifestyle.

And Amanda Holden joked that Simon Cowell now has the ‘same waist size’ as her, as the Britain’s Got Talent judges appeared on Lorraine alongside Alesha Dixon and David Walliams on Thursday.

The presenter, 48, said of seeing him for the first time after shedding the pounds: ‘I couldn’t believe it, he basically has the same waist size as me.’

When asked if Simon was now ‘thinner than David’, she joked: ‘Everyone is thinner than David.’

To which the man in question quipped: ‘He’s lost a tiny bit of weight but he’s not telling us how he’s done it. Is it the gastric band or sleeve? Are you doing a work out video for Christmas?’

Simon said he’d ‘do one’ with David, as he claimed it would ‘100 per cent’ sell, before Amanda said he lost the weight thanks to ‘skinny beer and being a vegan.’

Earlier this year, Simon hit back at claims he’s had a gastric band after his dramatic 20lbs weight loss.

He told Best Magazine: ‘People have said: “Oh, he’s had a gastric band fitted”- but I haven’t. If I had, I would admit to it. This diet is all about what you put into your body.

The judge has overhauled his lifestyle after a health scare in 2017, giving up sugar, fatty foods and unhealthy drinks.

‘I met this doctor in LA and he told me my diet was appalling and I had to cut out fatty foods and certain drinks.

Simon joked the ‘hardest part’ is watching his son Eric, five, tuck into a greasy pizza in front of him.

Simon previously spoke candidly about changing his lifestyle and diet following his hospitalisation in October 2017 after fainting as a result of low blood pressure.

Speaking to Extra TV in June Simon said: ‘I went to see this guy who’s very well-known. And he said to me, after doing some blood work, ‘You can’t have red meat, dairy, sugar, bread or gluten’.’
