Kirkland, who has been living in the building for seven months but doesn’t really know anyone, referred to Friday’s spectacle as ‘a unique unified moment’.

The two introduced themselves to each other before Kirkland offered Hudson some of his wine, Oregon white blend called Big Salt by Ovum.

‘It was actually a pretty decent pour,’ Hudson said.

The brief clip shows Kirkland pouring the wine and some spilling before most falls in Hudson cup. It has been viewed several hundred thousand times across Kirkland and the couple’s posting of the video.

Since then, Hudson and Kirkland have maintained a nice quarantine friendship.

‘I am just happy to have a new quarantine friend and maybe a drinking buddy’ Hudson demurred. ‘And he has good taste in wine.’

Hudson, whose brother and sister-in-law own a winery, is trying to figure out how she can get a bottle of wine to him.

‘We feel a connection from 12 feet away,’ Kirkland said. ‘We’ve been talking nonstop since yesterday.’

The new friends are hoping their viral video will inspire folks to donate to Direct Relief, an organization that works to get supplies and protective equipment to healthcare workers.
