Thousands of shoppers are raving about a compact yet ‘perfect’ garbage bin with a unique vertical design and dual compartments. 

The stainless steel Joseph Joseph Totem Kitchen Bin is designed with convenience in mind to make recycling easier and is built with integrated odour control. 

Carolina McCauley, who’s known for sharing cleaning tips on social media, shared a video with her 2.8 million TikTok followers focusing on her obsession with the gadget.

‘There’s no other garbage bin like this one,’ she wrote.

But while the product looks sleek, it has a hefty price tag of $299 on Amazon.

In a clip, the Aussie mum demonstrated the functionality of the product and claimed it to be the ‘best purchase ever’. 

The bin features three removable compartments – the bottom for recyclable materials, the top for rubbish and a tiny three-litre removable food waste caddy with a lid. 

The bottom and top sections are both 30L. 

The top lid also features replaceable activated carbon filters to control odours. 

At the moment the product is also on sale for $299 down from a staggering $499.95. 

Despite the high cost, it has a 4.6 star rating on Amazon. 

Carolina’s short clip has been viewed more than 75,000 times, and while many liked the design, others criticised the sized. 

‘It’s cute but still not big enough,’ one wrote, another asked: ‘It look small. How much does it hold?’ 

But Carolina said it’s ‘enough for my family of four’.
