Amazon’s grocery delivery service set to go head-to-head with Tesco, after vowing to match supermarket’s Clubcard prices

Amazon’s grocery delivery service is set to go head-to-head with Tesco, after vowing to match the supermarket’s Clubcard prices. 

It comes after Amazon Fresh was found to offer the cheapest shopping basket in the latest study by trade magazine The Grocer, 78p less dear than Tesco which pulled in second. 

As the UK finds itself in the depths of a cost of living crisis, Amazon Fresh’s prices have risen by 3.7 per cent over the past year.

But this compares to 8.5 per cent across the leading supermarkets. 

Russell Jones, Amazon Fresh director, said: ‘Improving our shopping experience and giving Amazon Fresh customers more for their money are key priorities for us.’
