Amber alert is issued for one-week old child and Miami police step up search for his father after three women are found murdered in a home

  • Three women, all Hispanic and aged between 40 and 80, were found dead from gunshot wounds in a home in a remote neighborhood in South Miami-Dade

Police are searching for Ernesto Caballeiro, 49, (pictured) who went missing after three women were murdered in a Miami home Tuesday

Authorities issued an amber alert for a infant and were on the hunt for his father after three women were found murdered in a Miami home Tuesday.

The three women, who were all Hispanic and aged between 40 and 80, were found dead from gunshot wounds inside the home in a remote neighborhood in south Miami-Dade, police said.

Police confirmed Ernesto Caballeiro, 49, and his 1-week-old infant son Andrew also were missing. The amber alert was issued for the child, and anyone encountering him and the father are warned ‘not to approach’.

Instead, the alert advises the public to contact police or call 911 ‘immediately’. 

Officers were called to the home Tuesday after a family member came by. 

The relative had made several unsuccessful attempts to contact the residence and found the bodies of the three women, Lee Cowart, a spokesman for Miami-Dade police said.

The last known contact the women had was at about 10:30am that day, police said.

Cowart said police are ‘are attempting to locate’ Caballeiro, who lived at the home where the triple homicide happened.     

The home and surrounding road were taped off by police and much of the neighborhood was placed on lock down 

The father is described as being white, hispanic, with black hair and brown eyes, standing at five-foot-seven and weighing 240 pounds.

‘This vehicle has a decal of ‘Nesty School Services’, says the alert. ‘On the back left door there is a decal of ‘Caution: Transporting Chidren’. 

Police are asking anyone with information to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at (305) 471-TIPS, or to call 911.
