A father soon regretted filming his cheeky son playing with a lit firework.

In the footage, the boy poses holding a Roman Candle firework upright in a park, believed to be Florida.

As the smoke wafts in the air an explosion of sparks flies upwards and the child quickly changes his stance.

After each small explosion he changes his pose again, pointing the firework in another direction.  

He even points the Roman Candle between his legs, firing the sparks backwards.

The boy then swings the firework in front of him, accidentally aiming straight towards his father.

As firework lets out another ‘bang’ and a jet of sparks, the father ducks for cover before they laugh off the very close call.

Steven Pattillo, who shared the clip on Facebook, wrote in the caption: ‘I will never, never give my kid a Roman candle again…’

Later in the comments the fater explained: ‘I clearly explained to him “do not point at anyone”.

‘I think he got carried away. So not doing that again,’ he added.

On Twitter, viewers commented on the hilarious video including one Lilbby Flops who wrote: ‘I don’t blame him, he was running out of poses gotta keep it fresh.’ 

But there was others who shared their concern, Fraiser Seinfeld said: ‘Holding a tube full of gunpowder in your hand is not a good idea.’ 

While Evan Bowman added: ‘A lot people nowadays never had Roman candle fight, and it shows.’
