American food chain In-N-Out Burger is popping up in Sydney for ONE day only

Hundreds of hamburger fans queue down a Sydney street to get a taste of U.S. chain In-N-Out’s one day only pop-up restaurant

  • Fans are likely going to cross the city to try the burgers at Wood and Smoke bar
  • Australia doesn’t have a brick-and-mortar store but has hosted pop ups before
  • In-N-Out will operate in Darlinghurst, Sydney, from Tuesday morning at 11am

Popular U.S. chain In-N-Out Burger has launched a Sydney pop up stall for one day only.

Fans of the famous cheese fries and the iconic cheeseburgers can get their hands on a tasty meal at Wood and Smoke, 77 Stanley St in Darlinghurst from 11am on Tuesday.

Hundreds of burger aficionados are spending their lunch hour in a queue stretching down the road, excited to get their hands on the famous burgers and fries.

An In-N-Out spokesperson told news.com.au the company had flown out a dozen staff members as well as their manager Eric to greet eager fans in the queue

So what’s on the menu at In-N-Out?

Wood and Smoke posted an image of what their menu will be to Instagram:

* Double-double cheeseburger $5

* Animal style fries $2

* Hamburger $3

* Cheeseburger $4

* Drink (Coke or Diet Coke) $1

* T-shirt $4

There will also be a $7, $6 and $5 meal deal for those wanting a burger and fries

In 2017, the Los Angeles-based chain set up a temporary a store at L’il Darlin, also in Darlinghurst. The year before, in 2016, they sold their burgers at Surry Hills’ Dead Ringer.

Last year In-N-Out suddenly appeared in Melbourne and the burgers sold-out within 30 minutes.

Those pop ups sold double-double (double meat and double cheese) hamburgers, a chain speciality, as well as shakes and cheese fries – so burger fans can expect the same thing on the menu on Tuesday.

But there will likely be a one-burger-per-person policy to avoid too many people missing out – and a wristband for each person entering the store.

But as anyone who visited previous pop up stores will know, the burgers have cult-like status and there were queues forming well before 11am.

They’re expected to finish selling at 3pm – but it’s unlikely the burgers will last that long.

There is no word on whether any other Australian cities will be hosting burger pop-ups.

Wood and Smoke is fielding dozens of fans who are leaving work for a spot in the line outside the establishment.
