It can be hard to convince customers to part with their hard-earned cash – but these stores have elevated it to an art form.
These are some of the most eye-catching, innovative and rib-tickling tip jars from around America along with the signs cashiers used to persuade customers into coughing up a little extra.
While some decided to made cheeky puns and lewd jokes with the word ‘tips’, others invoked famous lyrics in order to get the cash.
Some had the idea of setting up a voting system where customers cast ballots by paying into separate jars.
Yet more offered extra encouragement by promising that every time a customer tips ‘a Justin Bieber fan dies’, ‘Nicholas Cage contemplates retirement’ and ‘God punches Donald Trump in the face.’
