Amir Khan has suggested he could fight Oscar De La Hoya with the legendary American boxer considering coming out of retirement.
The 47-year-old officially hung up his gloves in 2009 following his defeat to Manny Pacquiao in December 2008, ending his career with 11 world titles and two gold medals.
Khan has not fought since he knocked out Billy Dib in June 2019 but the British fighter has teased a potential bout after calling out De La Hoya on Twitter.

The Brit shared an old photo of the pair on Twitter and called out the retired 47-year-old
Khan posted an old photo of the pair alongside the caption: ‘I heard @OscarDeLaHoya is thinking of making a comeback.

But fans were quick to criticise the 33-year-old for avoiding Kell Brook, with one writing: ‘You’d rather fight a retired fighter than @SpecialKBrook’.

De La Hoya, who has become a successful promoter since retiring, is the latest former boxer to consider a return to the ring after Mike Tyson confirmed his comeback.
Tyson last competed in 2005 and will take on Roy Jones Jr, who retired in 2018, in an exhibition fight in California in November.
The ‘Golden Boy’ said in June that he was seriously thinking about making a comeback but will wait to see how Iron Mike’s return goes before he makes a decision.

‘I’m really considering it’, he told The Ring. ‘It doesn’t matter [who I fight]. Anybody, anybody who is the best out there. I still have that mentality. It would be at 160 [for the weight]. If it’s at 154, maybe someone coming up from 147. Any top, top, top guy at 147. It doesn’t really matter.
‘I actually want to see what Tyson does first. I have been working out, I have been training, I have been staying in shape.
‘Obviously, I’m not in fighting shape yet to go twelve rounds. I’m sure I could get there. We’ll see. I want to see Tyson perform, see how his reflexes are, see if he can go past three or four rounds. We’ll see and then I’ll make my decision.’
