Amy Schumer may be a comedy expert, but she’s deathly serious when it comes to her boycott of Super Bowl LIII’s halftime show.

The Trainwreck star, 37, posted a note to Instagram on Wednesday, pushing back against ‘out of touch white guys annoyed by me standing up for what I believe is right.’

Schumer said: ‘I have done 2 Super Bowl commercials in the last couple years and I’m so stupid thinking my opinion would matter, right? Well guess what? I may have made a difference.’

She urged other celebrities to boycott the halftime show to show their support of former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick and his kneeling protest controversy.

Schumer committed to not recording any commercials for the CBS broadcast of the game, after recording two commercials in recent years.

The halftime show is currently slated to feature Maroon 5.

The comedian also expressed relief that performers Maroon 5 were reportedly having difficulty finding guests to join them for the halftime concert.

‘No one is stepping up to perform,’ she said.

‘Maybe they wouldn’t have anyway. But at least I tried to help out and do what other people are too greedy or afraid to. Would you do that to stand up for people of color?’

The I Feel Pretty star is supporting Kaepernick, who began to sit, and later kneel, during the playing of The Star-Spangled Banner in 2016.

His protest was against racial oppression and police violence, though some fans have chosen to interpret it as a condemnation of the U.S. in general.

Amy ended her note in support of the boycott with a dig at sports writers who have been critical of her protest.

‘I will continue to do everything I can,’ she said. ‘Even with all the snide little white sports writer making cutting remarks.’

The Snatched actress has been forced to take it slowly the last few weeks after suffering hyperemesis gravidarum, a form of extreme pregnancy-related nausea.

Amy even had to be hospitalized in November due to the severity of her condition.

Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, suffered from the same condition during all three of her pregnancies.
