An influencer was left permanently scarred and temporarily BLIND after getting freckles tattooed

An influencer who was left permanently scarred and temporarily blind in one eye after tattooing freckles on her face has revealed that she’s gone under the needle once again.

Tilly Whitfeld, 22, from Northern Beaches in Sydney, ended up in hospital after tattooing freckles across her nose and cheeks, using a sewing needle and ink she bought online.

She was copying a home tattooing hack she’d spotted online where people give themselves semi-permanent freckles using tattoo ink and a sewing needle.

But it turned out the  tattoo ink was fake with high levels of lead, and she was left with deep-level scarring and pigmentation from an infection.

However, the incident hasn’t put the Australian Big Brother contestant off from getting her lips inked in her latest TikTok video, shared with her 100,000 followers.

Followers were shocked to see her getting a blush tint, which involves inking the lips with colour to give the appearance of permanently wearing make-up.

After starring in Big Brother, fans questioned why Tilly wore a blue clay face mask throughout the series, forcing her explain in an Instagram post.

She wrote: ‘For those asking why I have my blue clay face mask on continuously throughout the show this is what my face looked like a week prior to entering the house, hence why I always have makeup on and my skin is always covered.

‘This is the result of attempting to remove scarring I inflicted on myself trying to replicate an at-home beauty procedure I saw on a TikTok video two months before Big Brother.’

She added: ‘I ended up in hospital with temporary loss of vision in my eye due to swelling and was very sick from the infection, not to mention my face was somewhat unrecognisable. Leave it to the professionals.’

The beauty took to TikTok to show the red scarring on her face and warn her followers not to try the procedure.

She said: ‘This is to anyone thinking of getting freckles tattooed on their face. Don’t.’

But the ordeal hasn’t put Tilly off beauty procedures to her face because she recently got a lip blush tint.

It involves colour getting inked across the entire lip to give it a permanent red tint.

Fans were shocked when Tilly shared a video of herself on TikTok getting the treatment.

One follower wrote: ‘You’re seriously doing this after the freckles? Girl, no.’

While another said: ‘You did not have enough with the freckles?!?’

Last week the social media star shared an update on her scarring with her instagram followers.

Sharing a ring light selfie of herself, she said: ‘It’s so crazy how far my skin has come since I first tattooed my freckles, I’ve been so self conscious of the scars from the left over ink for the past year and a half now.’

She revealed laser and lightening treatments such as enzyme peels, microdermabrasion and lifts helped her skin to recover and fade the scarring.

‘It’s a long process but by every treatment I’m consistently seeing results. I’m so excited and hopefully by the end of the year my skin will be back to normal.’
