Andy Lee responds to rumours he’s secretly engaged to Rebecca Harding – and shares renovation plans for his derelict $7.7million mansion


Andy Lee has given a rare interview about his personal life, amid rumours he has secretly tied the knot with longtime girlfriend Rebecca Harding.

The 40-year-old comedian laughed off questions about his marital status while speaking to KIIS FM’s Will and Woody on Tuesday.

When asked whether there was any truth to the engagement whispers, Andy simply replied, ‘Nah,’ before joking about tabloids reporting on his relationship.

He specifically referenced recent headlines about a ‘wedding photo’ that fans spotted in the background of a photo recently shared by Rebecca on Instagram. 

Fans immediately questioned the pair if the photo was taken from their own nuptials, including one who asked: ‘Is that your wedding photo?’ 

Finally debunking the mystery, Andy told Will and Woody that the image was actually his sister and brother-in-law’s wedding photo.

Elsewhere in the interview, Andy responded to questions about his renovation plans after recently purchasing a dilapidated, 1800s mansion in Melbourne for a rumoured $7.7million. 

The former radio host joked that he’d approached The Block to have his home renovated as part of the show, laughing: ‘I put a pitch in, but unfortunately it didn’t go through’. 

He said there were ‘rusty nails everywhere’ before joking that he was going to renovate the entire property from top to bottom without external help.

‘Yeah, I’m just checking on YouTube how to restore an 1870s building,’ he laughed. 

Of his plans for the property, Andy joked: ‘I’m just going to start like a Berlin-esque club – no shirts allowed, electronic dance music.’ 

According to The Herald Sun, Andy’s fixer-upper property is located in the affluent Melbourne suburb of Hawthorn and sits on 2000sqm lot and looks out to the Yarra River.
