Andy Lee has revealed one unexpected change in his relationship since he proposed to Rebecca Harding.

The Aussie comedian, 43, popped the question to his longtime partner in April after 10 years of dating, sharing their exciting news to Instagram.

Now, Andy has opened up about the unexpected way the proposal has changed his relationship with Rebecca as he gushed over their union.

‘You kind of don’t realise the lift in energy [a proposal] will give a relationship so we’re having a ball at the moment,’ Andy told Nine.

‘I didn’t think that that would happen.’

Andy popped the question at the Ravenswood property he and Rebecca are currently renovating, taking his partner completely by surprise.

The radio host revealed he hadn’t told anybody about his plans to get down on one knee before he popped the question.

‘Everyone on the day was saying, “Oh my god, how exciting”, but I had the run up, so it’s funny for the proposer, they’re never quite on the same energy, but it’s been pretty exciting.’

Amid the excitement, Andy recently revealed that Rebecca has had two ‘near misses’ with her glitzy diamond ring since he popped the question.

The media personality told how the ring was too big and had to be resized after Rebecca nearly lost the precious jewel on two occasions.

‘Two points where it came off, first one at my sister’s place. It’s come off while she’s very excited explaining what’s happened. It’s flung off,’ he said on on LiSTNR’s Hamish & Andy podcast.

‘She felt it come off. We all watched it in slow motion in the air. Our dog [Henri] loves eating anything that hits the ground. It hit the ground,’ he continued.

‘It’s jingling along and Fred, my nephew, slid in on his chest and beat Henri to the ring.’

‘We’d been celebrating again and we got home. Bec’s gone to the toilet. I’ve heard, clink, clink, clink. “Oh no, Andy”,’ he admitted.

‘She said I’m never allowed to tell this story, but it’s been a month. I get in there, it’s in the toilet. She’s dropped the ring in the toilet. Just number ones.’
