On Sunday he revealed the skills he has developed during his time on the sidelines.

Murray posted on his Instagram story: ‘Got asked in a interview today.. did I learn anything knew whilst I was injured and do I have any hidden talents? to which the answer was yes I did and I have many (sic).’

Following his pottery attempt, Murray showed off his piano skills playing Chopsticks.

The caption read: ‘I learned to play the piano.. it was actually pretty easy.’

He also said that his hidden talent was painting and joked that it was spelling. In his first post he wrote ‘knew’ instead of ‘new’.

Murray honed his tennis skills with a practice session against Juan Martin del Potro in Flushing Meadows on Saturday.

The Brit and the heavy-hitting Argentine drew a large crowd on a scorching hot day in New York.

The three-time Grand Slam champion is 4-3 since making his comeback in June at Queen’s and is continuing to rehabilitate his troublesome hip.

Given the fact that Murray lacks top level match-fitness, he doesn’t believe it is realistic to expect to add Grand Slam No 4 to his collection.

‘This one feels slightly different because for the last ten or eleven years I have been preparing to try and win the event where I don’t think that is realistic for me this year,’ he said on Friday.
