Andy Murray ties wedding ring to his shoelace AGAIN after it turned up at hotel’s LOST AND FOUND

Andy Murray has been reunited with his wedding ring after leaving it outside with a pair of shoes he left to dry. 

The former world number one left his wedding band tied to a pair of shoes he intended to wear in the tournament in Indian Wells earlier this week, hoping they would dry under his car overnight. 

But the following morning, they were no longer there, prompting an appeal on social media. 

The tennis champion, 34, was even about to call the police when the shoes complete with wedding ring turned up in the lost and found box in his US hotel. 

The shoes and ring must have been a good luck charm for Murray, who then went on to beat Adrian Mannarino in their first-round match at the BNP Paribas Open, winning 6-3 6-2 in the Californian desert.  

Murray said he spoke to lost and found at his hotel ‘a couple of times’ after the shoes were ‘misplaced or someone had moved them’ with no joy. 

‘I spoke to security,’ he said. ‘They said they found nothing. I was like, ‘Well, they’re gone’.

‘I was going to file a police report to try to get them back or to increase my chance of getting them back.

‘Anyway, I went and spoke to the hotel, explained to them that was what I was going to do. They then decided to take all of my details down, the details of the shoes, ring, took me out to the car park and asked exactly where it was I parked.

‘I asked them if they could look at the cameras. About an hour later they turned up. One of the employees at the hotel found them in their lost and found. 

‘So, yeah, thankfully managed to get them back, which was good.’

When telling the world of his problem on Instagram, Murray revealed that he was in the ‘dog house’ with his wife Kim, but revealed this was not the first incident of him being careless with his wedding ring. 

‘There’s been a number of occasions where it’s fallen off my shoe,’ he said. ‘Like once I was swimming in a swimming pool. When my hands get cold, the ring can slide off.

‘I lost it and didn’t realise until later in the day. My physio went back into the swimming pool. He used to swim, like, at British level.

‘He was under there looking for it. He managed to find it. I’ve almost lost it quite a few times but it always finds its way back to me somehow. Yeah, this time was no different.’

Murray revealed this was not the first incident of him being careless with his wedding ring

Britain’s Emma Raducanu lost her first match since her US Open victory immediately before Murray took to the court.

Murray is set to face Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz in round two. 

Elsewhere, Kei Nishikori, one of Murray’s old adversaries, triumphed in three sets against Portuguese Joao Sousa, and set up a clash with Britain’s Dan Evans. 

Former Wimbledon finalist Kevin Anderson, Australian John Millman and German Jan-Lennard Struff also claimed victories.  

However, there was some heartache on the court for Britain’s Emma Raducanu, who lost her first match since her US Open victory immediately before Murray took to the court. 

The 18-year-old lost 6-2 6-4 to Belarussian Aliaksandra Sasnovich.
