Angel Reese misses second straight LSU game amid speculation she’s been suspended from the Tigers as head coach Kim Mulkey refuses to explain the star’s absence

LSU women’s basketball star Angel Reese missed a second straight game Monday night against Texas Southern.

The reason behind the 2023 NCAA Tournament’s most outstanding player not playing is still uncertain, with Tigers head coach Kim Mulkey being incredibly tight-lipped about Reese’s situation.

‘Angel Reese is still part of the team. She is not in uniform tonight,’ Mulkey said Monday night.

Reese hasn’t played since last Tuesday’s victory over Kent State, where she was benched during the second half of the game.

Rumors have run rampant online as to why Reese is out of action, with the 6-foot-3 center posting on X, ‘please don’t believe everything you read,’ on Sunday.

Angel Reese hasn’t played for LSU for nearly a week and the reason why is still unclear

Mulkey provided little explanation after LSU’s win over Southeastern Louisiana on Friday on Reese’s predicament.

‘You want me to explain why? It’s very obvious Angel was not in uniform,’ Mulkey said Friday.

‘Angel is a part of this basketball team and we hope to see her sooner than later,’ Mulkey continued.

Before her absence, Reese was averaging 17 points and 10.3 rebounds per game.

Reese is one of the most recognizable faces in college basketball, having been an integral part of the Tigers’ national championship victory last season.
