Anger from Diana’s friends as Middleton family sells Halloween outfit of a princess covered in BLOOD

A friend of Princess Diana has slammed Kate Middleton’s mother for selling a ‘warped and twisted’ Halloween costume of a princess covered in blood.

The children’s Zombie Sleeping Princess Costume is listed on Carole Middleton’s Party Pieces website for £10.99.

The gruesome white dress is splattered with blood, torn at the bottom and shows the ‘not so pretty princess” ribcage.

Simone Simmons, a friend of Diana who died in a car crash in 1997, blasted the ‘sicker than sick’ costume, reports the Daily Star.

She said: ‘I hope people boycott this site. This is really scraping the barrel. It’s twisted and warped.’

One royal fan said: ‘It’s outrageous for Carole to sell a costume like that with the word ‘princess’ in the title.’

A description of the product on the Party Pieces website says: ‘This not so pretty princess costume features a blood-drenched pink silky dress with a jagged skirt.

The business was established when Kate was only five years old

Carole Middleton (right with daughter Kate) and her husband started the Party Pieces business in 1987. In 2011 their daughter married Princess Diana’s (left) son Prince William

‘This princess will be the scariest princess at any Halloween party.’

The costume is said to come in two sizes: medium (age seven – nine) and small (age four – six), reports the Mirror.

Although the Zombie Princess costume does show up in a search of the website when the outfit is clicked on, the site says the next page cannot be found.

This suggests that it has now been removed from sale.

Carole and Michael Middleton’s Party Pieces website has faced critisism before when it started selling a host of patriotic products before the Royal wedding in May.

Products included a giant inflatable drinks cooler, a bowler hat and a cake stand – all with the same flag print – that would be perfect for the sort of street parties that were held in 2011 when their own daughter married Prince William.

The business has been a family run firm since it was set up by Carole and Michael in 1987, when Kate, now 36, was just five-years-old.

Party Pieces has been approached for a comment by MailOnline.
