Surfers Paradise locals were in disbelief but had a laugh at the Church’s unintentional gaffe.

However, a spokesperson for the church told The Gold Coast Bulletin they were confused as to why people can’t understand the message.

The spokesperson explained, ‘You don’t open your mouth and yell at somebody, you close your mouth and swallow.

‘If you want to say something, keep your mouth closed for a bit.

‘Swallow it, don’t spit it out,’ they said.

The reverend was not available to make any comments to the media as it was his day off.
