Angry driver chases cyclist in his car before pursuing him on foot and shoving him

This is the shocking moment an angry driver follows a cyclist and then gets out of his car to threaten him.

The dramatic footage was captured by a camera on the cyclist’s bike and was given to the police after the incident in Armadale, West Lothian, Scotland.

As the cyclist makes his way down the road, queuing traffic can be seen to the rider’s right hand side.

The silver car follows the cyclist down the road and revs his engine during the pursuit

He pauses for a few seconds next to a silver Volkswagen before starting to cycle again, however the driver can be heard shouting that the cyclist has touched his window.

A little further down the street other cars start to turn off from the main road and the silver car catches up with the cyclist.

The driver shouts ‘You touched my f*****g window’ at the cyclist, who responds by saying ‘I’m recording. There’s a camera.’

The silver car doesn’t relent and continues to follow the cyclist, even revving his engine to keep up.

In an attempt to get off the main road, and away from the driver, the cyclist turns onto a bridge and comes out by some shops.

However the driver, who is wearing a high-vis jacket, has parked his car nearby and ran towards the man on foot.

He again accuses the cyclist of touching his window and the two men swear at each other.

The cyclist can be heard saying ‘keep your hands off me’ and denying he touched the car window while they were in traffic.

The bike is then knocked over and the driver appears to try and take off with it, but drops it to the ground.

The cyclist, who wants to stay anonymous, said: ‘My bike was badly damaged and irreparable as it would cost more to fix than i could afford at the time.

‘After a long wait I contacted the police and was told that the driver was being charged with dangerous driving, no recourse for me or my bike but it could have been a whole lot worse.

‘In the audio when still in car he was intending to follow me home and smashing my windows. Not taking into account if I had slipped he would have been straight over the top of me.’
