Anna Victoria shows trick for hiding bloated stomach

Even Instagram fitness stars have moments when they look less-than-perfect, though you wouldn’t know it by their expertly-curated pages. Most will go to great pains to hide less-flattering shots and angles from the public — that is, except for Anna Victoria.

The 29-year-old regularly posts candid ‘realstagrams’ that remind her 1.3 million followers that what they see on social media isn’t the whole story.

And this weekend, she did it again, uploading a video of herself looking trim and toned in a perfect pose — before shifting to show that she was actually pretty bloated that day.

In the short clip, she starts off posing toward the mirror, with her body turned sideways and her face turned toward her phone.

She has her front leg popped to show the curve of her body, with her front arm cutting across her chest and waist. She looks every inch the trim and toned fitness star.

After a moment, she shifts, unbending her leg and moving her arm away. The viewer can see that she is actually a bit bloated. Though she is still quite clearly a woman in very good shape, her belly isn’t totally flat as it appeared just moments before.

‘Instagram doesn’t tell you the whole story!’ she explained in the caption. ‘I could’ve easily posted a picture of me posing like I am in the beginning of the video and called it a day.

‘But I know the truth is that I’ve been SO bloated all day. I’m not going to tear myself down and rack my brain as to why. I’ve been fueling my body properly and I’ve been kicking [butt] in my workouts this week.

‘My stress levels are the same as usual (not low, but where I can manage them), and my sleep has been good. So it’s probably hormones (not preggo btw) or something else outside my control that would be a waste of energy to worry about.

‘I personally have the body type where I can look preggo on command,’ she went on. ‘That won’t change no matter how lean I get, and I’m okay with that.

‘Just always remember [that what] you see on Insta is what people want you to see. Myself included. And while sometimes that means sharing photos where I was posing my booty off and feeling [hot], I also want you to see the every day, too. Love yaself BOTH WAYS.’

Anna has bravely shared candid pictures and messages like this with her followers in the past.

Back in September, she uploaded before-and-after shots of herself pre- and post-cheat meal.

That day, she said she’d  munched on some pizza, burgers, cookies, and wine — and didn’t regret it one bit, even if it meant looking bloated for a while.

‘If you’re following 80/20 and you’re going hardcore on that 80, then you deserve to go just as hard on that 20, amiright? and NO GUILT ALLOWED!’ Anna captioned the side by side images.

In her ‘pre cheat meal’ photo, the Instagrammer looked incredibly trim in high-waisted jeans and a crop top.

However, just a little while later, she unbuttoned her jeans to accommodate her bloated stomach in her ‘post cheat meal’ photo, which offered an honest look at what happens to her body when she splurges a bit.

Anna is known for sharing these types of photos, and she noted that these types of ‘Bloated vs. Non-Bloated’ pictures have gained popularity, which is what she hoped would happen when she started sharing her own.

‘I personally started sharing these photos when I was feeling pressured to be “perfect” and conform to society and IG standards,’ she explained. ‘I wanted to show that you don’t have to and you can still love every bit of your perfectly imperfect self.

‘It was as therapeutic for me as it was for all of you and to see so many others sharing these types of photos has made me so happy knowing the positive impact it has on men and women of all ages.’

She also insisted that despite the pictures being ‘trendy,’ she’s not taking them for attention — and they’re never, ever manufactured.

‘Am I posing before? Hardcore. Am I pushing out in the after? No. I’m relaxed and my tummy is just seriously bloated from all my cheat meal goodness,’ she said.

‘Let yourself live. Enjoy the meal. Drink tons of water after. You’ll be bloated, yes. But the next day it will be gone and you’ll be right back on track slaying another week of that 80%,’ she added.

Anna also explained that since she started sharing these candid, unposed pictures, she has received messages from girls who say they have helped save them from potential eating disorders and body dysmorphia.

‘Dub these photos “attention seeking” or “fake” while I continue focusing on the lives, hearts and souls they save,’ she said.

Anna’s #keepingitreal and #realstagram shots have earned her devoted support from followers, who also turn to her for workout and diet plans, tips, and advice.

Previously, she has shown that a cheat meal won’t ruin your progress and how  lighting can make all the difference when it comes to taking a selfie.

She has also proved that different angles can give you the appearance of a flat stomach and one that is covered in rolls.

Recently, she launched an app called Body Love With Anna Victoria, which gives personalized plans for subscribers.
