Anne Heche says Harvey Weinstein fired her from film

Anne Heche has added herself to the long list of women victimized by Harvey Weinstein.

In an interview on the Allegedly podcast on Tuesday, the 48-year-old actress said she had once been fired from a Miramax film for refusing to perform oral sex on the film producer.

She made the revelation when asked why some of the victims didn’t speak out sooner.

‘First of all, you were threatened the second you walk out the door. I personally did not suck Harvey’s d***, although he showed it to me and I got out of the room before there was any physical contact.

‘The fact is, I was fired from a job I had been hired for in Miramax. The repercussions of standing up for yourself were as deep and targeted as some of the scars of the women who actually got more physically unfortunately involved,’ she said.

Heche, best known film films like ‘Seven Days Seven Nights’ and ‘Donnie Brasco,’ went on to say that ‘there is no bigger monster’ in Hollywood than Weinstein and ‘it’s great that he’s being taken down’.

Before becoming an actress, Heche was sexually abused, painful memories she recounted in her memoir Call Me Crazy.

In a way, she thinks if was her prior abuse that drove a man Weinstein to try and take advantage of her, but also what helped her stand up to him.

‘You’re talking about girls, young actresses are very vulnerable. A lot of us come from hurt backgrounds. What happens when you come from a broken place, you don’t have any guidance, you don’t have support, a parent you can go to. And you certainly don’t want to go to Harvey’s partner and say this happened. You come to LA, you’re alone, you don’t have friends that you are being able to talk to and that’s what he takes advantage of, that isolated, vulnerable girl.

‘That’s why every one of us was 19, 20, 21 or 22. He didn’t go after the 40 year old woman. He hits on me when I’m 19, 20, 21, 22, vulnerable, scared, frightened,’ she said.

She added: ‘If I wasn’t sexually abused as a child, I don’t know if I would have had the strength to stand up to Harvey and many others.’

Heche said that there are plenty of more predators in Hollywood, but she thinks the #MeToo movement has done a good job of scaring them.

‘That doesn’t mean that’s not going to happen anymore, but it sure as hell got a kick in its pants these past few months, that’s for sure,’ she said.
