Another woman accuses Hugh Hefner of rape in Secrets of Playboy

Yet another woman has accused Hugh Hefner of rape, alleging that the late Playboy boss invited her to his bedroom to go over her photoshoot before pulling down his pants and having sex with her — all while she laid their, frozen and scared.

In the finale of the A&E docuseries Secrets of Playboy, Audrey Huskey says she was flown to Los Angeles for two days of Playboy test shoots in 1994, and initially felt ‘safe’ around Hefner, who died in 2017.

But at the end of the first day of shooting, she alleges, he invited her into his bedroom under the guise of discussing the photos — and before she knew it, he was raping her.

Huskey cried herself to sleep and spent the next day in bed, but says she was afraid to tell anyone what happened because of Hefner’s power.

Huskey is the latest woman to make accusations of abuse or misconduct against Hefner, and is not the first to say he raped her.

In Monday night’s finale of the series, Huskey explained how she got involved with Playboy to fulfill her modeling dreams, sending her photos to the organization when she was just 18.

In 1994, she was invited to Los Angeles to stay in the guest house at the Playboy mansion and shoot test photos for the magazine.

Initially, she said, she felt safe meeting Hefner.

‘He was married to Kimberley [Conrad] at the time. And I’d read in an article, he had plenty of women, but through his marriages, he was always faithful,’ she recalled.

But Conrad wasn’t there when Huskey flew in.

She said that after the first day of shooting, Hefner invited her to his bedroom to go over the photos from the day.

‘I was sitting at the bottom of the stairs deciding whether or not I should go upstairs,’ she recalled. ‘But then I’m thinking, you only live once. This is my opportunity. This is my chance to make connections and get out there and build my career.

‘I had no thoughts in my mind that anything would happen,’ she added.

When they got to his room,  ‘He showed me the pictures of me. They were right there by the door.’

But Hefner’s professional excuse for inviting her in faded fast.

‘Immediately, he walked me over to the bed, and I sat down. He was to the right of me, and he pulled out a joint, just lit it. And now I’m starting to get speechless, I’m not talking, I’m like, “What? This is all happening so fast,”‘ she said.

‘And then he gave it to me, and he’s pulling down his pants, and… I froze. And he got on top of me, and I just froze,’ she recalled.

When asked if he had sex with her without her consent, Huskey answered in the affirmative.

‘Yes, he did. I didn’t say anything. I didn’t give him permission. What was I going to do? If he said no, would he have stopped? I don’t know,’ she said.

‘I laid there and when he was done, he walked me down to the guest house. I didn’t know what to think that night. I just, I cried myself to sleep. Saying, oh, this isn’t a fairy tale, this isn’t what I signed up for.

‘The next day, I had a shoot, and I couldn’t move. I didn’t get out of the bed. I didn’t go,’ she said.

Huskey didn’t tell anyone what had happened, and expressed fear that it would make things worse.

‘I didn’t know what to think. I was scared. I thought I was going to get into trouble — it’s his house, his power, his enterprise, so I have to just shut my mouth and go home. And I did,’ she said.

‘And then I got a letter in the mail. It was a termination letter,’ she said, with the A&E series noting that Huskey’s photos never appeared in the magazine.

Later, she said, Hefner’s wife Conrad called her and said she had heard that Huskey was in Hefner’s bedroom. She asked if Huskey went ‘willingly’ or ‘did he invite’ her.

‘Of course he invited me, but I didn’t tell her that,’ she said. ‘I didn’t want to get him in trouble,’ she said. ‘That’s so crazy. He didn’t care about me or what happened to me, and I was protecting him.’

After the visit to LA, Huskey said she never saw Hefner again.

‘That was it. I was thrown away, and I shut my mouth,’ she said.

Huskey credited Sondra Theodore, Hefner’s girlfriend from 1976–81, with inspiring her to come forward. When she heard Theordore was going to participate in the docuseries, she decided to reach out — and speak out.

She said hse wanted to participate because of ‘freedom — freedom from keeping such a dirty secret inside for so long time. Freedom for everyone out there who it’s happening to to just stop and speak up and say no.’

Theodore, meanwhile, spoke more in the finale about her relationship with Hefner.

‘He broke me like you’d break a horse,’ she said.

She had previously said he ‘groomed’ her from the age of 19, and forced her to have sex with other men and women while he recorded it.

She also said that he regularly made her buy him drugs, and she witnesses him practicing bestiality and watching snuff films.

In the finale, Theodore also gave some insight into one reason why so many women kept quiet about their assaults and mistreatment.

‘If I admitted [how he treated me], it made my story — the fairy tale — turn into a nightmare,’ she explained. ‘And so many people counted on that fairy tale, like my own children. My daughter grew up looking at those pictures thinking I’d been a princess, you know?’

She also figured that everyone else thought Hefner was a great man, so maybe she was the problem if she felt negatively — and, she said, ‘I had no one to talk to back then.’

Ultimately, though, she decided it was time to hold him accountable.

‘You’re not getting away with this, whether you’re dead or not,’ she said.

Previous episodes have also included other rape allegations against Hefner. In one episode, Theodore recalled witnessing him raping another woman and feeling powerless to stop it.

She said that he at a skeleton key that let him into every room in the house, and pne night, he let himself into a room with a sleeping woman and sat down on her bed.

‘She kept saying no,’ Theodore recalled, crying. ‘The minute she said no, he continued and forced himself on her.’

After, he told her: ‘Well, did they think that they were going to come stay at my house and not sleep with me?’

‘Whether they consented or not, if he wanted something, he would take it,’ she said.

Stefan Tetenbaum, Hefner’s valet from 1978–81, claimed he once saw Hefner anally raping Playmate Dorothy Stratten, who would be murdered by her husband at age 20.

‘There was a ledge around the Grotto. Hefner propped her up and he started to rape her anally, and she was screaming,’ he said.

‘After we witnessed it, the security guard … whispered in my ear [that] I should go back into the butlers’ pantry and keep my mouth shut. And that’s what I did. You had to follow the rules. You had to be discreet, be quiet, carry on. Nobody was going to come forward because nobody wanted Hefner to come after you.’

Meanwhile, Susie Krabacher, then known as Susie Scott, alleged in one episode that Hefner once gave her a pill to ‘calm her down,’ and she woke up to him on top of her.

‘I decided to tell in detail about the Hefner rape,’ she said. ‘I hate that word, but there’s no other way to describe it.’

She said that Hefner invited her into his room, where she wanted to talk about being named Playmate of the Month, ane he immedaitely gave her a pill.

‘I just took it, not thinking much about it,’ she said. ‘At first, it didn’t dawn on me that it was a drug. At first, you’re thinking someone’s giving you a Tylenol or an Advil. And then I thought, OK, what did I just take? I didn’t even ask.’

Now, she thinks it was a Quaalude, citing how he used to carry them around and pass them out. Her memories are foggy after that, but she recalled unquestioningly that he raped her.

‘I don’t remember laying down,’ she said. ‘I don’t remember if I even said anything to him about Playmate of the Year. I woke up with him on top of me.

‘He was naked, and my pants were off, my pajama bottoms were off. I thought that I was having a nightmare because it didn’t seem possible,’ she said.

‘This old man with his mouth gaping open was a real thing. He was a real person, it was Hefner. He looked like Satan. He just looked so — just a creep,’ she said.

Most recently, in last week’s episode, twins Karissa and Kristina Shannon spoke about feeling coerced into having a sexual relationship with him, with Karissa saying plainly: ‘Every time I’ve done it with him, it’s assault. For me, it’s like rape. He used control mechanisms completely through everything.’

A&E notes in a statement that ‘the vast majority of allegations have not been the subject of criminal investigations or charges, and they do not constitute proof of guilt.’

Inside Edition’s Lisa Guerreo says Hugh Hefner gave her an ‘open-mouth kiss’ like a ‘dog slobbering’ at their first meeting

Interviews in Secrets of Playboy were conducted by Inside Edition correspondent Lisa Guerrero — who is a former Playboy model herself.

Guerrero, 57, didn’t experience any particular abuse, but did share an unsettling story about her first time meeting Hefner.

She said she was about 20 and had just signed with Playboy Models at the time.

‘When you signed with them, they encouraged you to go to the mansion for movie nights,’ she told Yahoo. ‘Back then I didn’t drink. I was really naive and I thought, “Wow, the Playboy Mansion, that’s famous.”

‘And so I went and I was so intimidated. There was all these older men and I was really uncomfortable.

‘I met Hugh Hefner and he leaned in for a kiss and I turned my head and it was like a dog slobbering, like an open-mouth kiss. He seemed so old to me,’ she said.

‘Again, I was naive. I looked older than I was… I was just really uncomfortable at the mansion.’

She also recalled how those movie nights would have ‘great buffets,’ which were great for her as a struggling actress.

When she came back for subsequent movie nights, she brought empty Tupperware containers that she would fill up when no one was looking.

On one occasion, she got caught by a member of staff, who gave her prepackaged to-go containers — Guerrero thought was just a nice staff move, but she later realized it was likely because there were cameras everywhere and Hefner saw what she was doing.

Guerrero didn’t pose for a cover until January 2006, at age 40, and it led to her ‘dream job’ at Inside Edition job.

But while her expereince was ultimately posisitve, she realizes she got lucky.

‘When I watched Secrets of Playboy, I realized that I dodged the bullet. I dodged multiple bullets and I was shocked to hear about it. I knew there was a darkness at the mansion… but I didn’t know the extent of it,’ she said.
