  • He made five starts in the top-flight for the Red Devils in the 2022-23 season

Swedish winger Anthony Elanga has held talks with German side RB Leipzig ahead of his Manchester United exit, according to reports.

The 21-year-old has fallen out of favour with United coaching staff and made just five starts in the Premier League for the Red Devils this season.

And, failing to record a single goal from his 26 appearances in all competitions, it seems as though Elanga’s time at Old Trafford will soon be coming to an end.

According to Plettigoal, the Sweden international has been told that he can leave the club in summer and has already begun discussions with one club.

The reports claim that Elanga has held talks with German giants RB Leipzig however discussions have not reached an advanced stage yet.

Anthony Elanga will be allowed to leave Manchester United during the summer window

Erik ten Hag's side are willing to accept an offer in between £13m-£17m for the winger

Erik ten Hag’s side are willing to accept an offer in between £13m-£17m for the winger

There are suggestions that the winger has drawn interest from a number of major clubs across Europe, who are all monitoring his situation.

The Red Devils will hold out for a bid worth between £13million [€15million] and £17million [€20million] for the winger, according to the report.

The 21-year-old came through United’s academy and so any fee generated from a sale would be pure profit for the Red Devils.

Since making his first-team debut for United in 2020, the winger has made 55 appearances and recorded four goals and four assists.

It’s a relatively underwhelming return for the player who has just three goals from 39 outings in the Premier League.

There are expected to be a number of outgoings with the Red Devils this summer, as Erik ten Hag looks to overhaul the squad.
