Anthony Mundine is fined $1,000 for ‘refusing to wear a mask or check in to a Bunnings near his home’ – after calling Covid vaccines ‘genocide’

  • Mundine visited Bunnings Warehouse in Kingsgrove, Sydney on Tuesday
  • He allegedly didn’t check using a QR code or wear a face mask at the store
  • Police were called to the store and then stopped by Mundine’s house to fine him
  • He was fined earlier in July after allegedly flying to Ballina without a valid reason

Australian boxing legend Anthony Mundine has been fined $1,000 after he allegedly failed to check in to a Bunnings or wear a mask while visiting the store amid Sydney’s lockdown.

The 46-year-old visited the store in Kingsgrove, in the city’s south-west at 2.20pm on Tuesday.

Police allege he wasn’t wearing a mask and didn’t check in to the store’s mandatory QR scanning code, later claiming he had left his phone in his car.

Officers were called to the store on Tuesday night before they paid a visit to Mundine’s South Hurstville home and fined him for breaching public health orders.

The fine is the second infringement the athlete has copped in just weeks.

He claimed he wasn’t wearing a mask because he has an exemption and told Nine News he couldn’t check in to the Bunnings because he left his phone in his car.

Mundine purchased something at the store during the time he was there.

Earlier this month the boxer and former rugby league footballer was fined again after he allegedly flew from Sydney to Ballina without a valid reason.

He’s previously made headlines during the Covid-19 pandemic for his controversial views on vaccines.

In May he ridiculously said Australians should not roll up their sleeves for the coronavirus vaccine because ‘it’s blatant genocide’.

The outspoken retired sportsman urged everyone to ‘do some research’ in a bizarre social media rant that was not backed up with any scientific or medical evidence.

‘You take the shot then you will have serious health problems even death!’ the anti-vaxxer told his 89, 500 Facebook followers.

‘Their evil plans are to depopulate the world to 1 billion people, we are at 7-8 billion now …this is blatant genocide on the human race with a virus that has 99.7% recovery rate!’

The recently retired boxer then claimed the vaccine ‘paralysed the immune system’ and that he would let his system do the work for him.

‘Don’t take it! Do your research!’ the post ended.
